Yunting grew up in Yantai, a beautiful coastal city in China. She earned her PhD in Genetics from Iowa State University, where she studied the signaling of autophagy regulation in plants. She then continued her research journey as a postdoc on auxin signaling in root development in the Kelley lab at ISU, studied ER stress responses in plants in the Brandizzi lab at Michigan State University, and histone modification using Top-down proteomics in the Pesavento’s lab at Saint Mary’s College of California. Yunting loves music including classical and jazz, and she enjoys DIY projects.
